China imported 4.305 million mt of palm olein in 2023, 27% higher than the volume brought in in 2022, according to data from the country’s General Administration of Customs (GACC) released over the weekend.

This comes after December’s palm olein imports reached 290,027 mt, 33.1% less compared with November as buying slowed down amid relatively higher stocks and the winter season where the tropical oil is less preferred.
