Indian palm oil imports up 41% in April but stocks fall to near 2 year low: SEA | India domestic usage

India’s palm oil imports rose by 41% month on month in April to 684,094 tonnes, regaining its majority share of the country’s vegoils imports, figures from industry group Solvent Extractors Association of India (SEA) showed on Tuesday May 14.

Palm oil imports — consisting of crude palm oil (CPO), refined, bleached and deodorized (RBD) palm olein and crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) — were up, breaking a losing streak for the past three months amid lower prices, with production in Indonesia and Malaysia improving after the seasonal lows in the first quarter.
