Malaysia palm oil exports for January 1-20 up 3.62%: ITS data | Malaysia 1 20 Jan

Malaysia’s palm oil exports rose by 3.62% to 867,828 mt for the first 20 days of January compared to the same period a month ago, according to cargo surveyor Intertek Testing Services (ITS). This is a smaller incline from January 1-15’s increase of 6.50%.

Rival cargo surveyor SGS reported a much sharper fall of 8.61% and Amspec reported a fall of 2.73% for the same period.

Shipments to India fell by 31% as CPO cargoes sank 38% wiping off the 22% rise in palm olein from a month earlier.

Outbound cargoes to China plummeted 35% as olein volumes contracted by a sharp 76% to a month ago.

Palm oil demand from India and China remains soft on a seasonal lull -weighing on overall export demand.
